I have some permanent issues, but I am still alive, thanks to God and a wonderful doctor. I was terrified of needles too, and I had to learn how to give myself shots!!! I have done grief counseling for years and we men really have a problem with crying - but, guess what. We are supposed to cry and for different reasons. You said you cried because you were touched. I can imagine. You are a special person to a lot of people. I learned years ago that it was OK to cry - and, I also learned that I never have to do it alone. To me, that was a blessing. And, thank you for writing what you did. There are a lot of men out there who need to read your article. My BFF has T3 throat cancer and he had his 1st chemo yesterday. Today, he is delivering a mobile home out of state. He's also a 7th degree Karate expert and one of the toughest men I have known. He cried, too. Because he is scared. But, he said he still has a family to take care of. Wow! I guess we all have to handle things in our own way. So, Dave, whatever lies ahead for you, know that you have soooo much support, love and prayers being sent straight to God over and over. Some of em are from me. The membership has been made aware of your diagnosis and are praying also, My wife, in 2001, was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer and had a large portion of her colon removed. She couldn't tolerate chemo, but God heard our requests and she is doing very well 11 years later and no sign of cancer anywhere since 2001. My dad went through this journey a few years ago and has done great - he is now 75!!!
